Traditional Cakes Penetrating Hotels

In the culinary domain, cakes play an important role in every single life of the community during all occasions. Each region has miscellaneous traditional cakes with distinctive and different flavours, different from that of other regions. Form and ingredient of the cakes offer distinguishing flavour. Similarly, each kind of cake wrap promises a characteristic delight.

In Bali, cakes are frequently presented in customary and religious rites. Its form and colour vary in accordance with its need. By and large, such cakes are on sale at traditional markets with simple packaging. Today, many traditional cakes are served to guests on formal occasions, both that are organized by government and private sectors. In seminars or other events held at hotels, traditional cakes are frequently served to the guests.
Hotel Sunari, one of the hotels located at Lovina, always offers the serving of Balinese traditional cakes to guests at a dinner function. The kinds of the cake offered consist of: limpang-limpung, sumping, nagasari, klepon, pisang rai, fried banana, wajik, steamed black rice and so forth. The wholesale serving of such traditional cakes is intended for grandiose events like meetings, seminars and also for individual guests in smaller number.
As clarified by Kadek Sukrawan (30), the Restaurant Manager of Hotel Sunari, the set menu provided for dessert is an assortment of Balinese traditional cakes, particularly instant cakes, such as fried banana, pisang rai and so forth.
In its serving, the waiter is always ready to give explanation on the making of such traditional cakes, ingredients required and the way to taste it. Therefore, the guests can enjoy it satisfyingly. According to Kadek Kuradana, the father of two children who has worked in the restaurant since he graduated from SMKK Singaraja, the hotel party always offer set menu of traditional cakes to guests staying at Hotel Sunari. It often happens that guests that already know its taste keep requesting for these traditional cakes.
With pleasure the hotel party provides this kind Balinese traditional cakes, that are normally only found at traditional markets, in fact, they are also favoured by the guests. The serving of traditional cakes at Hotel Sunary for sure receives special attention when it comes to hygienic, taste factor and the allurement of its look. Indeed, it is immensely necessary to pay attention to those issues, as Sukradana observed. Besides of the attractive look in terms of its shape, colour and aroma, it is also packed in such a way that it will draw the appetite of the guests to enjoy the traditional cakes.
