Anahata
Villas & Spa Resort
Offers
Steamed Yam
Anahata is a boutique hotel comprising 12
villas and is perched right on a contoured
verdant hill on the side of Petanu River,
Ubud. The Villa resort is designed based
on the concept of natural retreat for mind,
body and soul and has been in operation
since 2005. Similarly, this villa is harmoniously
designed with the surrounding nature, so
the allurement of mountain range at the
vicinity of the resort gets coalesced into
the villa complex.
To
reach this convenient place, it will only
take you 10 minutes from downtown Ubud.
On the way to this place, you will be acquainted
with the distinctive climate of Bali. The
atmosphere of countryside and spread of
pristine rice field will unfold your heart
and soul. As soon as entering this area
your sensation will be swept away since
you are abiding in a supremely favourable
atmosphere.
The word Anahata is derived from Sanskrit
standing for love, affection and harmony.
In yoga and meditation’s point of
view, Anahata means the centre of love and
affection’s awareness. This tranquil
venue is not only suitable for newly wed
couples, but also ideal for family and formal
rendezvous. As a family retreat, Anahata
provides several facilities and activities
that can involve the entire family members,
such as private barbeque, horse riding or
cycling between rice fields and hill ranges.
Additionally, the villa comes up with a
DVD player in every single villa and Xbox
video game that is in vogue amongst children.
Looking for bodily fitness at spa and performing
yoga are two clearly noticeable activities
here. "We’d like to exercise
the mind, body and soul of the guests, so
it can recharge their energy on returning
to their regular activity after making holiday
at Anahata," revealed Onnie Djakmiko,
the owner of this exclusive resort. Other
than spa services, offering a wide range
of wellness treatment, Anahata also provides
yoga facility. A free yoga course is extended
to guests staying here. Yoga exercise like
this is proven overly practical as it can
restore the freshness of mind.
When
having a seat at the restaurant, which is
one with the bar and lobby, you will feel
so tranquil and peaceful. It would be perfect
when you indulge yourself to enjoy a variety
of Balinese typical delicacies. Some Balinese
delicacies on offer here are fried duck,
steamed duck, Balinese mixed rice and if
you are abstaining from eating meat, non-meat
food is also available. "70% of the
food on offer here consists of typical Balinese
food," said Dewa Gde Sudarsana, Chief
Cook of Anahata Villas & Resort.
Sudarsana also added that some desserts
offered are Balinese cakes such as taro
pudding, flour-coated fried yam and steamed
yam. Steamed yam is the most commonplace
traditional cake in Bali. Every Balinese
who was born and grown up in Bali definitely
once tasted this cake. It is made from steamed
yam and then mixed with grated coconut.
By and large, this cake is served with coffee
or tea in the morning or you can also taste
this cake whenever you like. (BTN/Made Suambara)
