Look to Fruit Squash Company in Klungkung
PT Bali Extract Utama (BEU) is established
on 4400 sqm of land and is located at Lepang
Hamlet, Banjarangkan sub district, Klungkung.
This squash company was set up in 2004 and
commenced its production in 2005. Then it
performed continuous operation since April
2006. By continuous operation, this company
is in operation 24 hours a day, to process
fruits imported from Java and Sweden.
Situated
right in close proximity to Lepang Hamlet,
so on the left and right side it is surrounded
by pristine rice fields. From the Semarapura
city, it is some 7 km or 37 km east of Denpasar.
Moreover, it’s within easy access
to the Bypass of Tohpati-Kusamba.
According to Mark Bik Manto, Plant Manager
of PT BEU, agricultural products that are
processed within the company, consist of
tamarind, snake fruit, ginger, papaya, coffee,
cacao, strawberry, pineapple, yam bean,
cucumber, chili and garlic. Garlic, ginger,
chili and onion are processed into spice
powder, while tamarind is processed into
squash that is normally served as welcome
drink. Strawberry imported from Bedugul,
Tabanan is made into juice and candy and
so is the snake fruit produced by farmers
at Sibetan Village, Karangasem. "Our
market segments are hotels and restaurants
in Bali and outside Bali," he told
Bali Travel News.
Yam bean, papaya, cucumber are processed
into powder marketed to the spa industry
and beauty salons for cosmetics ingredients.
These fruits are immensely beneficial to
be used to exfoliate the skin. Manto said
that not only fruits are processed, but
his party also uses frangipani and grass
to be processed into powder satisfying the
demand of spa. Obviously speaking, all agricultural
products processed by PT BEU are 100% without
colouring agents and preservatives. "So,
the company assures that its products are
significantly natural and safe," Manto
said convincingly.
When asking about the source of its raw
material, Manto explained that up to these
days dry red chili and garlic were imported
from overseas, namely India and China, while
ingredients other than garlic and red chili
were produced by Balinese and Javanese farmers.
Everyday, the company can process 1.5 tons
of garlic and 700 kg red chili while other
ingredients remain to be processed in small
capacity depending on the market demand.
According to this man born on 29 March 1965,
to undertake the production process its
company employed 28 workers where 70% of
them are villagers of Lepang Hamlet. The
remaining are those who mastered mechanical
and laboratory skills. Get interested to
