| Tourism
& Peace
KUTA
– Tens people from several backgrounds,
like tourism stakeholders, academism,
and religious figures came together
to discuss tourism and peace. The
seminar was held in conjunction with
the Peace Evocation 2006. According
to Mr. I Gede Ardika, the former Minister
Tourism and Culture, Indonesia has
a good philosophy named Bhineka Tunggal
Ika. It means that Indonesia is an
archipelago island state, with different
religions, arts and cultures, but
they are the plus points in tourism
for this country and it is the soul
of tourism in Indonesia. Added by
Mr. Anand Krishna, this soul of tourism
should be maintained well, besides
taking care of the other three elements
in this country like good education,
good governance and healthy social
life. The one-day seminar was cheered
up by singing songs of peace and painting
peace messages on a canvas by the
panelists and this was followed by
participants. The seminar was held
at the Sahid Hotel Kuta Monday (9/10).
