Renovation of Padmasana Shrine

DENPASAR—In compliance with the Tri Hita Karana concept of which one of them is to improve the harmonious relationship to the Creator, the Tourism Labour Union of Bali Chapter carried out a renovation of its Padmasana and Guardian shrines at its office, Sunday (1/10). The ritual event was attended by 90 representatives of the members of the union who allocated the fund amounting to IDR 42.5 million for such renovation. (BTN/015)


Asian Television Awards 2006

NUSA DUA - A Jury session of the Asian Television Awards 2006 was held at Meliá Bali Villas & Spa Resort for 3 days. The jury session took place from September 13th – 15th, 2006 at one of Meliá Bali’s meeting rooms. Five juries from Asia region such as Hong Kong, China, and Japan were joining the jury session. Most of the juries work in the broadcasting industry. During the session, all the juries were evaluating TV programs to choose the winners of Asian Television Awards 2006. Unlimited Exhibition

DENPASAR—Ten painting artists from Bali coalesced into "10 Fine Art", undertook an art appreciation through a painting exhibition entitled ‘Unlimited’ at Danes Art Veranda, Jalan Hayam Wuruk, Tanjung Bungkak Denpasar. They visualized ideas without ever knowing the restrictions of art resolved by an exhibition curator. Through this exhibition they expected to have a capability of giving some new significance within the constellation of art realm. The ten painters comprised Wayan Paramartha, I Ketut Teja Astawa, I Made Budiadnyana, I Made Romi Sukadana, I Made Dolar Astawa, A.A. Ngurah Paramartha, I Wayan Muliastra, Vinsensius Dedy Heru, Ida Bagus Putu Purwa and I Wayan Apel Hendrawan. The exhibition was inaugurated by Nyoman Erawan, Sunday (1/10) and takes place up to 20 October 2006. (BTN/015)

The 8th Anniversary of DenPost

DENPASAR—The 8th Anniversary of DenPost was celebrated modestly at Wantilan Hall of K. Nadha Press Building, Monday (2/10). This festivity was filled with rice cone cutting by Mrs. Desak Raka Nadha and then delivered to junior journalist Kadek Mustapa and the senior one I.B. Pasma. The happening was also attended by CEO of Bali Post Media Group Satria Naradha as well as each chief of the medias within the group. (BTN/015)

Fun Walk

DENPASAR—Happening together with the anniversary of the daily newspaper DenPost, thousands of downtown Denpasar citizens, participated in the fun walk at the eastern parking lot of the Bajra Sandhi Monument, Sunday (1/10). The fun walk was organized in conjunction with the 8th anniversary of DenPost and was officially opened by the Chairman of the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) - Bali Chapter, IGB Alit Putra accompanied by Chief Executive Officer of Bali Post Media Group Satria Naradha and Chief Editor of DenPost Made Nariana. The route covered was from Jalan Juanda, Jalan Tantular, Jalan Cok Agung Tresna and back to Jalan Juanda. Prior to the main agenda, namely the drawing of motorcycle, the participants were exuberantly jazzed up with the presentation of popular songs. (BTN/015)

Meliá Bali Joined Clean up the World

NUSA DUA - Meliá Bali Villas & Spa Resort joined Bali Hotel Association program of Clean up the World on September 15, 2006. Bali Hotel Association initiated the program of Clean up the World and asked all hotels in Bali to participate in cleaning their designated areas. Meliá Bali Villas & Spa Resort joined the program and had been assigned to clean the Bualu area in Nusa Dua, which is 10 minutes away from the hotel. Organized by Meliá Bali Human Resources Manager, Mr. Made Suardika, about 70 staff members of Meliá Bali participated in the Clean up the World program. Starting early in the morning, the cleaning program finished around 10.00 AM. All participants were enjoying their tasks in sweeping the garbage off the road. After finishing the cleaning-up of the area, all staff members went back to the hotel and enjoyed a breakfast together. (BTN/*)

Charity for Love

NUSA DUA - The General Manager of Meliá Bali Villas & Spa Resort, Mr. Alfonso Romero, together with Meliá Bali Human Resources team went for a visit to two orphanages in Kuta area to distribute some donations, on Saturday 23rd September 2006. In conjunction with the Sol Meliá Community Involvement program, Melia Bali Villas & Spa Resort is committed to regularly join programs involving social activity or contributions to the community. For this month, Meliá Bali chose to give its contribution to two orphanages in Dalung, Kuta area; Wisma Anak-Anak Harapan and Widya Asih. The Wisma Anak-Anak Harapan orphanage has 216 children from age 2 until college students. Widya Asih orphanage has 67 children and is restricted to females only. Meliá Bali contributed rice, instant noodles, and some toys and children outfit from Mr. Romero’s family, who also attended the occasion. The afternoon ended with a joyful photo session in both orphanages. (BTN/*)
