Peter
O’Conno
General Manager Of The Ayodya Resort
Mr.
Peter O’Connor is a graduate of the
State University of New York with a degree
in Hotel Administration and was appointed
to the alumni honor roll and awarded for
"Outstanding Professional Achievement"
in 2001.
Mr. O’Connor joined the Ayodya Resort
Bali as General Manager, with over 30 years
of multi-faceted International Hotel Senior
Management Experience, including 12 years
as General Manager and Vice President with
multi property, regional and corporate responsibilities.
The majority of his experience has been
at large, upscale, 5 star luxury resort/hotel
properties, International Brands. Specialized
experience includes development, openings,
turn-over, take-over, re-branding and repositioning/restructurings,
having directly opened 11 hotels and assisted
in opening 21 hotels in 7 different countries
worldwide, in Europe, North America, The
Caribbean, Hawaii and Asia.
Before to his assignment in Beijing, he
served as Senior Vice President/ General
Manager Hard Rock Hotels & Resorts and
succeeded in leading the Hard Rock Hotel
Bali to receive "The Golden Merit Award"
by Travel Weekly East in 2002, "Most
Innovative Product Award" by Travel
Weekly East in 2001 and "Best New Resort
Hotel" by Travel Trade Gazette"
in 1998, by leading Signature Hotel Group
– Palace of the Golden Horses to receive
awards as one of "The Hottest New Hotels,
Worldwide" by Conde Naste Traveler,
and "The Best New City Hotel, Asia
Pacific" by Travel Trade Gazette.
Prior to his posting in Asia, Mr. Connor
was Executive Vice President/Managing Director
of the 751 Room Grand Wailea Resort in Maui
Hawaii, where The Hotel was awarded –
"The Gold Key Award and Spa",
from Meeting & Conventions Magazine
in 1995 and 1996, as well as "The Paragon
Award" for excellence in Meeting &
Conventions Management in 1995.
Mr. Peter O’Connor also has been successful
in his 7 year assignment with Hyatt International
with senior management postings in Singapore
and Hawaii, as well as other International
brands in Kuala Lumpur, Dallas, Lake Geneva

Nizar Sungkar
Chief Operating Officer Singgasana

Nizar
Sungkar was appointed Chief Operating of
Singgasana Hotels and Resorts in March,
2004. In his past experiences he handled
various business functions that gave him
in depth exposure and hands on capabilities
in dealing with the organization’s
revenue management, its strategies in order
to generate overall bottom line profit.
He is responsible for the operations, financial,
and development of The Sultan Hotel-Jakarta,
Jakarta Convention Center, Singgasana Hotel
Surabaya, Bali Hilton International (soon
to be Ayodya Resort Bali), Singgasana Hotel
Makassar and Lombok Golf Kosaido.
Nizar is remarkably hands-on in his management
and business style, confident in the success
of transforming and upgrading the three
properties of Hilton International in Indonesia
into independent Indonesian world class
hotels and resorts.
Graduated from the National Hotel Institute,
Bandung, his career began in 1980, when
he plunged into the culinary business. His
aspiration to expand hospitality knowledge
urged him to pursue experience in different
countries. Possessing an outstanding career
track record, awards and accolades have
been received by Nizar while he was entrusted
to hold key positions at the opening of
Nova Park Hotel in Middle East to Swiss
Hotel-Zurich, Elbow-Hilton and has contributed
to the success of Hilton and has contributed
to the success of Hilton International in
Australia, Surabaya, and Singapore.(BTN/*)
Ray
Clark
General Manager of The Samaya
The
Samaya Bali has appointed British native
Ray Clark as the new General Manager of
the 24 luxurious villa beachfront resort,
bringing with him his wide and varied successful
career spanning over 40 years in the hospitality
industry.
He started his career 1966 as an apprentice
chef in Liverpool UK, followed with stints
in 4 and 5-star Hotels in England, before
spending a 5-year on articles posting with
the Royal Navy.
Back on dry land he held positions of Executive
Chef before embarking on a teaching career,
as Chef Lecturer at Bournemouth College
of Further & Higher Education specializing
in Culinary Art for 14 years. Whilst in
the Education sector Ray added to his already
hefty culmination of qualifications with
two University Degrees, and holds several
Professional Memberships.
Ray then returned to his first love, Food
and Hospitality Management. This took him
on a 5-year stint with Sandals Ultra all
inclusive resorts based in Montego Bay,
Jamaica and Antigua, as Executive Chef followed
by the role of Food & Beverage Director.
During his career he has successfully competed
in many International Salon Culinaires,
with many challenge trophies & gold
medals to his credit.
Prior to his current assignment, Ray was
the Resident Manager at Nusa Dua Beach Hotel
& Spa and previously to that was Executive
Assistant Manager at Nikko Bali Resort &
