Beside providing service for the tourism
industry actually this hotel also pays good
attention to the environment. It is shown
by several activities that were held by
this hotel to keep the sustainability of
their environment. Even the clean up program
is noticed on their annual hotel program.
In addition Sofitel Seminyak also built
public toilets on the beach area in Seminyak.
This hotel continues giving training to
the community how to take care of cleaning
up the toilets. "The annual cleaning
activities are not limited to our Hotel.
It also includes areas out side of the hotel
like in Petitenget temple, along the Abimayu
street, beach cleaning, etc." said

regular cleaning activities the hotel also
organizes flora and fauna conservations.
These conservation programs were first started
when this hotel opened thirteen years ago.
Many kinds of green plants and trees are
growing in the garden of this hotel that
has a direct view to the sea. "Various
rare plantations either from Bali or beyond
are growing well in our large garden. We
even display the name for every single rare
plantation. It is important to give the
information to the visitor about the plantation"
uttered Happy. She added that by mentioning
the names of the plants and trees, automatically
the visitors learn about the variety of
Balinese flora.
Nutmeg trees, belimbing buluh (Averhora
bilimbi), lengkeng (Euphoria longana), gaharu
(Intsia palembanica), kayu manis (glycyrrhiza
glabra), kemiri (phyllanfhus urinaria),
kenanga (greenish yellow flowers), damar,
daun salam (euginia polyantha) are part
of the plantation decorating this hotel.
"We are now having a Garden tour activity.
Although the activity is not launched yet,
this program has been running successfully"
she said. "In the future the garden
tour program will be one of our interesting
hotel programs and will be handled by some
one who is an expert in plantation"
she added.
Beside flora conservation the hotel also
gives attention to the fauna like squirrel,
birds, fishes, iguana etc. "many kinds
of fauna can life free in our regional,
event we prepare several food boxes filled
with peanuts and grains and this is very
interesting to see" she explained.
