Setting Up the Casuarina Tree
During Christmas and
New Year, the Dewi Sinta Hotel & Restaurant,
Tanah Lot—Tabanan will set up a cemara
pandak or pandak casuarina tree. "In
years to come, we will celebrate such moments
more joyously than in 2006," utters
Ketut Sudiartana, Sales & Marketing
of Dewi Sinta Hotel & Restaurant.
Stated,
on those days will also be installed a banner
saying "Wishing you a Merry Christmas
& a Happy New Year 2007’. Though
the celebration is immensely modest, however,
the Dewi Sinta - having 27 rooms (standard,
deluxe and suite)- stays to provide facilities
like sound system for karaoke. "For
this celebration, we will prepare sufficient
sound systems that will comfort the in-house
guests at our hotel. Hopefully, our room
occupancy at that time will increase up
to 80%," he says.
As he observes, the Christmas tree that
will be set up is in the form of living
cemara pandak or casuarina tree embellished
with Christmas lights of various colours.
This casuarina is the mascot of Tabanan
Regency and will be installed a week prior
to the celebration. "We’d just
like to participate in gracing those sacred
feast days," he adds.
Dewi Sinta Hotel & Restaurant of which
entire buildings are designed by combining
the traditional and modern architectural
style, is located at the area of major Tanah
Lot tourist object, 16 km from the Ngurah
Rai International Airport and can be accessed
within 20 minutes from Denpasar.
Dewi Sinta, that is intense with its Balinese
dance performance, provides ‘Daily
Buffet Lunch" every day. Its renowned
product is the ‘Set Menu Dinner’
serving seafood basket, Indonesian, Chinese
and European dishes. Similarly, the Dewi
Sinta offers its food specialty in the form
of grilled fish served with Balinese traditional
condiment and klepon (typical fresh cake
of Tabanan) for dessert.
On ordinary days, visits to Dewi Sinta Hotel
& Restaurant is predominated by foreign
tourists like Japanese and Korean. In the
meantime, on religious holidays, the composition
of tourist visits equals, between the domestic
and foreign. "On every Christmas, New
Year and Idul Fitri the tourist visits shows
a drastic increase. Unfortunately, they
just come enjoying sunset and they are later
back to their hotel in Sanur, Kuta or Nusa
Dua. They rarely drop in at Dewi Sinta,
whereas they can stay here conveniently,"
he remarks.
Indeed, other than providing several facilities,
Dewi Sinta also offers a cool ambience.
Its surrounding is overgrown by enchanting
tropical plants. In front of the hotel spread
the terraced rice field and embellished
with the view of golf course, swimming pool
and performing stage reflecting the allure
