“A Trilogy Concert”

SEMINYAK—Because of the success of organizing an international concert in the midst of last year, Sofitel Seminyak decided to once more host “A Trilogy Concert”, Friday (29/12). This musical concert constituted a collaboration of two arts (music and dance) and was a cooperation of reliable artists of Indonesia, such as Ananda Sukarlan as one of the world’s best solo pianist, together with Chendra E Panatan as choreographer. According to Ananda, such collaboration was not only carried out by dances but also other domains of art like painting and so forth. Presentation of this “A Trilogy Concert” was held in three cities namely Bandung, Denpasar and Jakarta. Seen in the picture is Ananda Sukarlan (third from right) together with other artists. Bronze Award

KARANGASEM—Management & staff of Candi Beach Cottage, Mendira Beach—Candidasa, was extremely happy with its success in achieving the Tri Hita Karana Awards (bronze) recently at Tanah Lot, Tabanan. The achievement of this hotel was not detachable from earnest implementation of the Tri Hita Karana concept at their hotel. Expected, the success obtained at the present moment could trigger the enthusiasm to improve its service and concern to guests, community and surrounding environment and particularly to the Creator. Essay Competition

KUTA – Two hundred and fifty five students from senior high schools and junior high schools all over Bali participated in an essay competition conducted by Bali Hotel Public Relation Association or Himpunan Humas Perhotelan Bali (HHPB). Coincided with HHPB’s 8th Anniversary, the Essay competition themed ‘I Love My Bali’ aims to nourish our younger generation’s interest in writing and at the same time to build, develop and express their love of our beloved island Bali.
 The students were given 90 days time to do their essay from mid September until the end of October. The senior high school students were asked to write their essays in English, while junior high school students compete in writing their essay in Bahasa Indonesia.
“I’m so glad to discover talented young writers, even from small villages. They could be great writers in the future,” said Julita Chandra, chairwoman of HHPB.
 Molly Browne from SMA Dyatmika Denpasar won the first prize for senior high school essay through her writing title ‘I Love My Bali’, and Ni Nyoman Wulan Swidiana Sari Widana from SMP Dwijendra Denpasar for junior high level through her essay titled ‘Cinta Terhadap Budaya Itu Berawal dari Sebuah Mimpi Dipeluk Putri Kahyangan’. Donation

KARANGASEM—Mrs. Winni Van Zwieten De Bloom is one of the loyal repeater guests of Candi Beach Cottage. She donated some rice to the hotel’s staff family last week. TANJUNG BENOA— Celebrating the year change moment, the Bali Tropic Resort & Spa organized several activities and creativities. The program directed by Marketing Communication, Andy Cahyanto was commenced with cocktails at the lobby bar and then was followed by bleganjur gamelan music parade accompanying the tourists heading for the venue of the event. Other than fashion show and traditional kecak & barong dance, also several kinds of game were staged. An attractive amenity was that the guests were provided with 60 items of menu selection spreading throughout outdoor outlets at the hotel’s area. “It has not included ice cream of several kinds and flavors,” observed this Chef of Bali Tropic.
