| Hunting
for Paintings in Bali
For the painting
enthusiasts, Bali has become one of the
places for purchasing very attractive paintings.
The hunting can be carried out at a large
number of galleries around Ubud and Gianyar.
Starting from small galleries scattered
along the roadsides, offering affordable
prices up to larger and celebrated galleries,
providing paintings at moderately expensive
prices. At the latter galleries, the quality
of the works and name of its painter makes
the price of paintings costly.
Other
places that are adequately exciting to visit
are the Sukawati and Guwang art markets
in Gianyar regency, 7 km south of Ubud.
Here, visitors can easily encounter art
and handicraft articles of small to large
size, starting from sculptures to paintings.
Even, several fashion products at reasonable
prices are provided here, too.
Doing shopping here should be sharp. In
other words, one should be good at bargaining
the price as at first the vendor will offer
a high price. However, the price can drop
drastically if we can perform the transaction
patiently. It would be advisable not to
buy directly at the shop we first visit.
We’d better make comparison of prices
first, by visiting some outlets before making
a decision to buy. By doing so, we can obtain
a range of reasonable prices for a product
on offer.
Hunting for paintings at these locations
seems very enjoyable. They have a wide selection
of choice and variety. The dimension of
paintings on sale also varies, ranging from
the smallest size of 20cm up to large size
with the smallest size at 1 meter. Please
bear in mind that buying painting here should
ignore the question of quality of the painting
purchased. In whole, the quality of paintings
here is quite good. It means that such paintings
have been made by the ones who have sufficient
competence in painting.
The paintings sold there draw many visitors.
It is on account of its low price. Moreover,
for those who like to change the interior
atmosphere at reasonable budget, doing shopping
here comes to be an attractive choice.
Still in Gianyar, precisely along the road
at Lod Tunduh Village, there is also an
intriguing venue for the hunt of paintings.
Sometimes the painting sold at Sukawati
art market equals to that sold at other
places, because its painter make the same
or similar painting in a large number.
Hunting for paintings here is amply absorbing
as the price is affordable. In some cases,
there are also some paintings of good quality
on sale there. However, always check the
quality of materials used of the painting.
