Travel Insurance, Now In Bali

As one of the world’s major destinations, the name of Bali is no more bizarre in the constellation of world tourism. Arts, culture, tradition and even the lifestyle of its community grow to a prodigious attraction. On that account, to give added value to the provision of tourism service, the Association of Indonesian Tours and Travel Agencies (ASITA) Bali Chapter made cooperation with the AIU insurance company to provide the AIG (Assist Inbound & Domestic Travel Insurance) program.
“This insurance program for travellers is one of the implementations of our responsibilities to provide protection for the consumers of tourism services. On the other hand, this product can strengthen the competitiveness of Indonesian tourism in the midst of travel warnings issued by some countries,” uttered Al Purwa, chairman of ASITA Bali Chapter, on the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding in Denpasar.
Expensive premiums that should be paid for the insurance caused the fact that not all travel agents are capable of providing insurance protection to clients. This condition gives rise to the fact that only larger travel agents can cover their guests with insurance protection. By and large, insurance company normally charges the premium at USD 3 per day that obviously make things difficult for a travel agent. By this cooperation, travel agents under ASITA can amass its administration process and the premium relatively cheaper (USD 2 per month)
“This cooperation does not only extend protection to clients of tourism services but also added value for the members of ASITA as the operator of tourism service and makes the obligation of its members lighter,” he added.
To claim the insurance more quickly, travel agents existing across Bali can straight contact the SOS Alarm Center at (0361) 710505. Protection program for (domestic and foreign) travellers has some choice, amongst them, like self-protection insurance against accident during the journey across Indonesia; refund towards the expenses on the medical care services, evacuation and repatriation issued in connection with accident; 24 hours emergency service, replacement coverage on the loss the third party’s liability as well as protection of professional liability to protect the travel agent against any claims by guests or operators overseas.
Therefore, for the sake of safety and convenience for your holiday trip, simply ask your travel agent whether the package tour on offer has been covered by insurance. (BTN/008)
