The Prayer House Named “Cao Fuk Miao”

DENPASAR—The Buddhists in Denpasar City feel proud by the presence of prayer house located on Jalan Gatot Subroto, precisely at Jalan Kargo Permai II No. 9. Such prayer house is named ‘Cao Fuk Miao’ Tridharma Prayer House (TITD).
TITD Cao Fuk Miao, better known as Kongco or Chinese temple, is a prayer house of (Tridharma) Buddhists with an orientation on the development of teaching values of Sam Kauw Jin or three great prophets (Locu—Buddha—Confucius). These Three Great Prophets created cultural values teaching their disciples hierarchically the relationship of human to human, human to its ancestors as well as the human to the Creator of the universe (God). “This teaching is in harmony with the concept of (Hindu in Bali) local culture, namely the Tri Hita Karana,” uttered Pance Pangestu, Head of Bali Regional Leader of the Indonesia Tridhama Priest Assembly.
Pance Pangestu who is also the Patron of this Prayer House Establishment explained that Cao Fuk Miao would be completed this February and inaugurated along with the signing of inscription at the beginning of this March 2007 by the Head of Bali Provincial Religious Affairs. Cao Fuk Miao is the only prayer house belonging to the (Tridharma) Buddhist located downtown Denpasar.
Cao Fuk Miao belongs to all devotees of Buddhism and is not exclusive. ”Devotees of Buddhism who remain to worship at Chinese temple can use this Cao Fuk Miao as prayer house,” said Pance while ensuring that the presence of this prayer house would make the Tridharma devotees easier in undertaking their devotional service on feast days, wedding ceremony and also Sunday school or religious class pertaining to moral education that currently has been often neglected by parents.
Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the Cao Fuk Miao Inauguration, Singgih explained that before the inauguration commenced, there would be a series of procession namely the inaugural ritual (19/2), Self-Purification (24/2), Altar Purification (25/2) and on 26 February—3 March is the ritual inviting the Sing Bings.
