Our Guests

Mr Bruno Hampe & Mrs Ingrid Hampe
“The Beach should be Made Cleaner”

This couple has great affection for Bali. It’s what makes them return time and time again to spend their vacation in Bali. “We come to Bali for holidaying and relaxing. This is our second home,” said the couple from Germany.
They confessed that they have visited Bali 13 times. “Bali is a safe place to visit. So far, we have no problem. We have been coming to Bali since 1974 and we stayed in Sanur for the first time. Then every year starting in 1986-1988, 2000-2008, we have stayed in Putri Bali Hotel, Cottages & Spa, Nusa Dua, our home away from home. We always spend our holiday in Bali, especially in Nusa Dua,” said the couple whose address is Koechs Cut 9, 51427 Bergisch Glabach, Germany.
“Balinese people are warm and kind. They are very friendly and helpful,” he recalled. The couple also likes to become involved in the surrounding community. They have many local Balinese friends. “When we come to Bali we meet our Balinese family. We have many friends as a family here in Bali. Besides, we found different atmosphere here. The sun and weather are very nice. Bali should maintain its friendliness and culture,” they said.
Nevertheless, they have one message they would like to express. “The beach should be made cleaner because that’s our special place for relaxing. In addition, we appeal to all drivers and bike riders to be more disciplined on the road to make a better and safer Bali for all road users.” (BTN/008)

Ms. Elizabeth Durkin:
‘Keep the Beach Clean’

It is not mistaken if one says that Bali retains extraordinary attraction to visit. It has the uniqueness of its culture, the physical environment as well as its magnetic community. On that account, many visitors feel that Bali is their second home. So it is for New Zealander, Ms. Elizabeth Durkin. For so long, the nuance and spirit of Bali has appealed to this woman who is familiarly greeted as Liz. “Yes, I have visited Bali 10 times because Bali is my second home,” she told Bali Travel News.
More than that, Liz also confessed that she is happy to recommend Bali to her friends to visit because as a tourist destination Bali is safe and convenient. Besides, for the woman who lives in Jakarta, Indonesia, Bali also provides appealing recreation sites for tourists like Waterbom Bali. “Waterbom Bali is fantastic, especially for my kid and we can hardly wait to see the next exciting attraction, Superbowl,” she observed impatiently.
However, behind the temptation and uniqueness of Bali, the inhabitants of Bali should pay their utmost attention to their environment. As a region surrounded by beach, they ought to take part in maintaining the preservation of its coastal territory, chiefly its beach. “I think Bali needs more care and attention to keep Bali clean,” she suggested. More importantly, she feels very comfortable to stay in Bali and would continually come to Bali to holiday and enjoy the spirit of Bali. (BTN/008)

Elizabeth Clark:
‘Gamelan is the drawcard’

Every single visitor has different motivations to travel to Bali. This motivation even drives him or her to cover long distances, up to many miles away. Such was the case for Elizabeth Clark, a tourist from Canada. She travelled alone and her journey took 18 hours from Vancouver (via Taipei) to Bali. She has done so for a special reason; she was eager to listen to the Balinese gamelan music.
“It’s my first visit to Bali. However, I have known about Bali for a long time, precisely since 1973 when I watched the performance of a troupe of Balinese gamelan in California, USA. Since that time, my desire to visit Bali never faded. And it has now come true,” revealed Elizabeth to Bali Travel News at Bali Museum on Friday (28/3).
Elizabeth Clark is a musician. As a musician, she admitted to being very interested in Balinese gamelan and would like to know further about such Balinese works of art. “I come from a very distant country and I’m here for a reason, namely to listen and learn more about Balinese gamelan. To me, this gamelan is very wonderful and attractive to listen and learn.”
Other than for listening and further learning Balinese gamelan, Elizabeth also takes excursion to some places in Bali. “During my stay in Bali, I encounter many people. They are so amicable and very helpful. I stayed in Ubud to meet very kind friends who have lent me a hand during my holiday. While here, I visited several villages and other tourist destinations. One of them is the Bali Museum that in fact could enrich my knowledge about Bali. Similarly, I love Indonesian food such as curry rice and Chinese food served in some restaurants.”
Furthermore, Elizabeth praised Bali as one of the world’s best destinations and moderately well known in Canada. According to her, many Canadians wish to visit Bali. Unfortunately, the distance for many of them is just too far away. “But it does not matter. Nevertheless, to me Bali Island is magnificent and appealing. I hope that I could come to Bali frequently in years to come,” said the musician who is good at playing flute and has the address at Box 1692, Grand Forks, BC, Canada V0H1H0.
