Resolving the HIV/AIDS Case

BADUNG—Thirty attendants consisting of members of rural community, officers of the Badung Office of Health Services and the members of Badung Commission of AIDS Prevention participated in the peer educator training, HIV/AIDS prevention for the Village Cadre for AIDS Care (VCAC) in Badung. As well as providing insight on HIV/AIDS, the training was also intended to establish the village cadres who have care on HIV/AIDS disease. With this training, Badung now has 55 VCACs where 25 of them were inaugurated last year. The training took place over two days with the resource persons from the Citra Usadha Indonesia Foundation. Assorted Competitions

BADUNG—‘Skillful, simple and resolute’. School students of Senior High, Vocational High and Junior High Schools throughout Badung Regency took part in the Adolescence Scientific Research Competition (ASRC), English Speech Contest and English Debate Contest. The competition was inaugurated by the Head of Badung Office of Educational Services, I Gusti Ngurah Oka Darmawan at the Junior High School (SMPN 1) of North Kuta, last week. (BTN/015)

Craft-Making Competition

DENPASAR—Unique and Attractive. The craft-making competition made from recycled materials and gardenia painting competition on clay piggy banks was held in Denpasar City. Tens of students from Senior High Schools and Vocational High Schools were busily creating from used materials new articles that have added value and utility. The competition, organized as part of celebrations of 62nd General Attack of the Denpasar City, was inaugurated by Mrs Bintang Puspayoga. (BTN/015)

Disseminating 100,000 fishes

BADUNG—100,000 fish fry consisting of 50,000 niles, 35,000 tawes fish and 15,000 carp sizing 3-8 cm were disseminated at the fish pond of Taman Ayun, Mengwi. This activity was intended to preserve the freshwater aquaculture in the Badung region and to take advantage of it as recreation site for fishing hobbyists. The Deputy of Badung Regent, I Ketut Sudikerta, carried out the dissemination of fish fry recently. (BTN/015)
