Alert to Investment

KUTA—The Department of Finance organized a seminar for Tuesday (27/5) entitled “The Handling of Deeds against the Law in the Societal Fund Amassing and Investment Management.” The seminar presented speakers from Department of Finance, Bank of Indonesia and Department of Commerce who addressed tens of participants from several social sectors. The event was intended to increase people’s understanding and competence in handling matters in the domain of societal fund amassing and investment management. Armed with this increased knowledge it is expected that Balinese people will not be deceived by various benefits offered by investors without observing the legality of the company. (BTN/008)

Fine Arts Exhibition

DENPASAR— An attractive and inviting atmosphere pervaded the Denpasar Art Centre for the welcoming election of a new Bali Governor. 42 young Balinese artists exhibited tens of paintings in various styles, colors, motifs and sizes, embellishing the exhibition room in a lively display. Some works frankly expressed the critique and expectation of Bali’s future leaders. The exhibition entitled “Conscience Entity” was attended by the current Governor of Bali as well as artists and observers and took place for a week from 31 May—7 June 2008. (BTN/015)


Travel Agent Branch Opening

KUTA—Dunia Wisata Tour & Travel, a subsidiary of PT Citra Sentosa Dunia Wisata (Jakarta) last Saturday (7/6) inaugurated its branch office in Bali, located at Ruko BTC on Jalan Dewi Sri, Kuta. The official inauguration was marked with the ribbon cutting by Lianna Joanawati, Managing Director of Dunia Wisata Tour & Travel and was attended by travel and hotel businesspeople in Bali. Bali Arts Festival XXX in Badung

BADUNG—Exuberant and extravagant ambience colored various art and cultural activities carried out for the Bali Arts Festival (BAF) of Badung Regency. The event held at the civic center of Badung Administration, Sempidi last Saturday (31/5) was attended by all officials of Regency Government of Badung. The Chairman of Badung House of Representatives was also present together with members of council for the regency and lower level government officials. (BTN/015)


Green, Clean and Cool

KUTA - As we know, 23rd April is Earth Day around the world. In collaboration with Indonesian Cinema artist Bali base, Kuta Seaview Cottage – Rosso Vivo Dine & Lounge proudly invited several corporate members, tourism industry members and local base media to conduct a program of cultivation and clean up of Kuta beach area, followed by a Cocktail Party, Fashion show, Body painting and live DJ performance. The theme of the program was “Think Green, Go Clean and Live Cool” and was held on Wednesday (23/4), starting from 4 pm. This event was organized to create more awareness of environmental issues and small scope of the implementation of the Balinese concept of life ‘Tri Hita Karana’ where the community is aware and tries to work in harmony with their environment. Yaari Rom Painting Exhibition

GIANYAR—Yaari Rom, an artist of international repute, proudly held an exhibition displaying his latest works at ARMA Museum, Ubud. The exhibition entitled “360 Degrees of Yaari” presented 75 works including a wide variety of art domain like photography, film, theater and fashion. His ideas and inspiration are taken from the charm of nature and culture of Bali within the last five years. Exhibition of this Los Angeles-based painter is presented for 2 weeks from 10-24 June 2008. (BTN/015)
