Monkey Forest Ubud Transformed by 10 Artists

Monkey Forest Ubud Transformed by 10 ArtistsA total of 10 artists conjured up the Monkey Forest tourist attraction in Ubud into a more attractive destination. Previously, travelers could only watch the cuteness of local monkey, perceive the coolness of forest and positive aura of the holy place, but now travelers can watch the exhibition of the innovative arts.

The exhibition entitled ‘Journey’ was held during the whole month from July 26 to August 26, 2014. Each artist displayed at least five of their best works. They presented two-dimensional work of arts where most of them introduced the aesthetical symptoms of the contemporary art in this era. With the touch of imagination of well-experienced artists, their works looked very creative because each work showed amazing interpretation about various phenomena having taken place lately. They included the matter of nature, culture, social and others.

Evidently, all the works of art presented were fascinating so they could draw travelers to come. It happened because they were carefully packed and all the ideas were expressed onto the canvas. Some of their works of art entitled Smile is Beautiful, Worries, Stylish Lover, Me and My Legacy Series, Harmony of Movement and Target Operation.

Operations Manager of the Monkey Forest Ubud, Nyoman Buana, said that since the exhibition was opened it could draw the appreciation of travelers. They did not only see them, but some were interested so they made a purchase. “Two days after the exhibition was opened, some travelers purchased the painting. At that time, they chose two paintings considered to look unique,” said Buana proudly.

Buana added that such exhibition was very good to attract travelers to Monkey Forest. During peak season, the number of tourist arrival could reach 1,500 to 2,000 people each day. “This exhibition poses our effort to create a gracious attraction,” he added. (BTN/015)
