Nusa Dua Fiesta (NDF) is organized again. This year, it takes the theme Segara Lelangunan which means enjoying the beauty of the sea. The cultural event held by PT Bali Tourism Development Corporation (BTDC) is going to take place for four days on November 2-5 on the Peninsula Island, Nusa Dua, Bali.
“BTDC would like to invite all parties to care and understand about the importance of conservation of coastal and marine ecosystems. BTDC is also very supportive of sustainable marine tourism, so that it takes the theme Segara Lelangunan,” said Ida Bagus Abdi, NDF Chairman, in the press conference at the BIMC Hospital, Nusa Dua, Monday (Oct 15).
Various activities will jazz up the annual event, starting from the attractions of cultural arts, music, sports, to the exhibition. Aside from promoting domestic products, implementation of the NDF 2012 also served as a form of promotion and imaging of Bali and Nusa Dua tourism area as a safe, comfortable and well worth visiting destination.
In this event, explained IB Abdi, 80 percent of the contents will feature traditional art displays. Two colossal performances will be presented to visitors, namely the Arjuna and Kebo Iwa ballet. There are also other traditional arts, such as the Janger and Cak dance nicely composed. “NDF also plants coral reef as a form of consistent concern against the environment so far,” he said.
Aside from presenting domestic artists, it will also display the world musician that combines the traditional and modern music. Such art presentation poses music collaboration with musician Franky Raden to enliven the NDF. “We will also feature international musicians such as Kevin Brigg,” he added.
Equally important, said Abdi, the NDF IB 2012 would also be enlivened by the underwater photo exhibition featuring the best shots of the underwater photography prepared by national and international renowned Underwater Photographers. Meanwhile, for the program of caring for children, the BTDC made cooperation with the Goethe-Institute to organize a Science Film Festival with the theme ‘Water.’
Especially for culinary field, this time the NDF will organize a Bali Culinary Challenge 2012 competition and workshop on the sustainable food in collaboration with the Indonesian Chef Association (ICA). This activity will provide different colors from the implementation in previous years, so as to attract more tourists. “NDF also organizes the Nusa Dua Fun Bike Fiesta 2012 providing a door prize of two units of motor, 20 units of mountain bike as well as a number of consolation prize draw,” he said.
