As a new manager of the Bale Udang Mang Engking (BUME), Donny Aviandhanu gives various touches to this restaurant. It does not only have anything to do with quality of service, but also with appearance. “The closest touch is a program ahead of Christmas celebration where he installs Christmas tree and knick-knacks related to such Christian holiday,” said the Operational Manager of BUME calmly.
This man from Jakarta said that before the grandiose festivities and in conjunction with the third anniversary of BUME, he had undertaken a variety of arrangements, starting from expanding the parking lot and arranging the garden and making the shady trees look more beautiful. Besides, he also added new menus every three months. “This restaurant offers a basic Sundanese food. If the menus are those of very same things, it will give a narrow connotation, so that we need to explore outside cuisines,” he said.
In the promotion, said Donny, aside from relying on walk-in guests, his party also worked with travel agencies. In the future, his party would expand the networks through cooperation with corporate markets. “After the Meal Set Box program, we will serve outside catering where we prepare buffet menu,” he added.
Donny would also work on great moments of holiday like Christmas, Chinese New Year, Eid, Kartini Day and other important days for promotions. For example, his party held a contest on Kartini Day in cooperation with the Indonesia Red Cross (PMI) to organize blood donation activity in BUME, national batik contest and others.
“For the time being, we are still busy making preparations to welcome the third anniversary of BUME. We will grace the event with social activities, planting mangroves and implementing some contests,” said the man who started his career in tourism industry starting from a dishwasher. (BTN/015)
