Healthy Breakfast à la Chef MudianaChoosing the profession as an executive chef does not only make I Made Mudiana good at cooking and creating menus, but also creative in choosing food. On this occasion, the chef known to be firm and disciplined is happy to share his tips and delicious healthy breakfast.
According to Mudiana, a healthy breakfast menu was not necessarily expensive. Definitely, it was preservative-free and tastily consumed. “A breakfast does not have to use rice, meat, vegetables or imported and expensive fruits every morning. Rather, it can be replaced with two simple menus namely boiled bananas and tubers,” he explained.

Boiled bananas, said Mudiana, could be used as a substitute for rice breakfast menu that was useful for satisfying the hunger. “This food does not contain any cholesterol. Besides, these foods contain high enough fiber so they are useful to facilitate the digestive tract. The preparation is also too easy, namely by boiling the bananas in water containing salt to taste. Boiled bananas can also be mixed with sugar or grated cheese,” said the chef having a hobby to play badminton.

Mudiana suggested that, other than boiled bananas, the typical tubers of Indonesia were also tasty to serve for breakfast menu. They were cassava, potato, taro and yam. Among the tubers like white yam, red yam, purple yam and honey yam, sweet yam had the most complete nutrients. “Sweet yam is rich in vitamins and beta carotene. It also contains minerals that are very good in helping the water balance in the body,” he explained.

Mudiana added that other than being simple, the food was also easy to prepare such as by boiling or frying. “It is one of the substitute foods that can be served as a delicious breakfast menu. Moreover, if served with warm tea or milk, it will be able to provide energy for the physical activities during the day,” he added. (BTN/ocha)
