A good hotel accommodation does not only rely on the building luxury and international standard, but also on the investment in human resources. By doing so, the services extended will be very professional. It was stated by Kahar Salamun, General Manager of the All Seasons Legian Bali, recently.
Every hotel in Bali, explained this calm man, had known how to improve the performance of hotel management. Besides, they should also consider every aspect, both in terms of the product and service. “Investment in human resources is the key. At the end of the day, the winner is the man that gives investment on human resources. It’s the focus,” said Kahar.
On that account, explained Kahar, All Seasons Hotel should make communication to the employees by providing training for 4 hours per month for each staff. Aside from for the staff, similar measure should also be undertaken for the community and the environment. Behind the glamour and glitz of Kuta, there remained many things in need of improvement. “Therefore, the measure to improve the quality of human beings needs to be done,” he said.
All hotels should participate to build human resources and the environment. “Now, we see the development in Bali has been growing rapidly. Without the support of skilled human resources, then this situation cannot be balanced,” he said.
Kahar also said the presence of so many hotels in Bali had made each hotel should compete through their services and products. “Do not only talk about the improvement of people’s quality. The most important thing here is how a company like hotel has a positive impact and benefit on the community and the environment,” he said.
In the effort to improve the human quality of the All Seasons Legian Bali, added Kahar, as a part of the Accor group it had already owned a worldwide program. One of them was the Planet 21 posing an incremental program that did not only organized blood donation and go green, but also participated in negating the use of plastic by the use of biodegradable plastic.
To reduce the water discharge, his party also performed a water-saving campaign. Each guest was directed to hang their towels after taking a bath so as not to be washed every day. “All Seasons also has 5 foster children for parents that cannot afford to send their children to school. So, we pay for their school,” added Kahar.
In this regard, his party had acquired a land to build a training location for skill improvement such as in the matter of language and hospitality skills. “The training is provided free of charge.
