The Badung Government Tourism Office built 10 units of international standard toilets in coastal areas. Its location is distributed in accordance with the density of visitors. Five units were built on Kuta Beach, while at the boat base in Kuta, Jimbaran, Tanjung Benoa (Deluang Sari), Canggu and Munggu Beach was respectively built one unit.
“Construction of the toilets in the coastal areas is to complement the existing tourist attractions in order to provide better services for travelers who are vacationing on the beach in the tourist area of Badung,” said the Head of Badung Government Tourism Office, Cok Raka Darmawan, Monday (Dec 9).
All the facilities had been completed, but some locations were still constrained by the availability of water. On that account, it was required to make an artesian well in the areas like Kuta and Jimbaran. “Indeed there are several beaches that are difficult to get water. So we make a breakthrough by making artesian well at the two points because it is difficult to get water,” he said.
Meanwhile, the areas that could not be reached by the service of the Municipal Waterworks (PDAM) or it was not possible to build an artesian well, it would be made cooperation with hotel. “Participation and the role of hotel to the environment will also be taken if it is impossible to make an artesian well. Hotels are expected to contribute to the environment in the future,” he explained.
Meanwhile, the toilets on Kuta Beach and Jimbaran Beach were using water provided by the PDAM. Then, the toilets at boat base in Kuta, Tanjung Benoa and Canggu Beach and Munggu Beach utilized artesian well. (BTN/015)
