Circus Waterpark Kuta became the center of artistic creativity during the holidays of Chinese New Year 2014. For three days, the water park in the heart of Kuta provided entertainment for visitors who were mostly from local community. “We are with the people celebrating the Chinese New Year by presenting Barong Sai,” said Sales and Marketing Manager, Linda. The second appearance of the barong sai belonging to Chinese community thoroughly provided fresh entertainment. Aside from enjoying a variety of games, visitors could also see the capability of Chinese-descendant community who played acrobatic show. The lion Barong Sai was danced on the wooden beam and table. Sometimes, it winked its eyes while dancing and approached visitors.
There were two groups making Barong Sai performance with its own uniqueness. On Saturday (Feb 1), it featured the Barong Sai in collaboration with acrobatic show. Meanwhile, on Sunday (Feb 2) the Mutiara Naga Barong Sai of Tanah Kilap Temple made performance in combination with the amazing wushu martial art. Besides, the session was also jazzed up with the show of magician that could entertain the visitors.
On the Chinese New Year was also presented a tree bearing fruits in the form of angpao gift. Then, it was resumed with talent shows like Mandarin singing, dancing, wushu, organ music, and fashion show of Chinese special attires. The participants making appearance on stage were specially brought in from elementary school children in Bali. “We also invited school children to participate in various Chinese cultural displays,” she added.
Linda added that to provide comfort for travelers, her party always presented entertainment apart from many kinds of games. Every feast day was always graced with traditional and modern entertainment. “We also feature the bleganjur gamelan music and drum band. Music and song performance is made every Saturday and Sunday,” she explained.
According to Linda, the art presentation was very helpful to draw more visitors. Especially for the Chinese New Year holiday, said Linda, visitors to Circus Waterpark were booming. During three days, the average visit reached 1,500 people each day. Meanwhile, on usual days, the number of visit only reached 300 people. “The composition is almost equal between the domestic and foreign travelers,” she said.
Currently, the Circus Waterpark has a total of 18 tourist attractions. Children attraction amounts to 9 slides, while the remaining is adult attraction. The latest one is the scientific show where it involves children to participate in scientific experiment such as the introduction to natural sciences. The existing facilities include speed slider, wave slider, spiral slider, speed water boom and lazy river for adults. Besides, there are also tube slider, phinisy games, mini slider, spilled bucket for children and some outlets that support the rides, among others, the club house that can be used for social gathering, birthday and other events with a capacity of 300 up to 500 participants.
