More than 5,000 bikers graced the fun bike entitled the fifth Tour De Village in conjunction with the 47th anniversary of the Inna Grand Bali Beach (IGBB), Sunday (Oct 13). Biking hobbyists comprising children, teenagers and parents seemed very cheerful as beautiful as the sunny morning. Participants of the fun bike were released at 07:00 a.m. by the Mayor of Denpasar, Ida Bagus Rai Dharma Wijaya Mantra, together with the Chairperson of the Inna Grand Bali Beach management team, IGK Ayu Ariani, and accompanied by Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Ketut Suarnata.
All participants then cycled along 20 kilometers down the tourist area of Sanur village. The route covered was from the football field, cottage area of Inna Grand Bali Beach through Jalan Danau Toba, Jalan Danau Tamblingan, Hardy’s Sanur, Bali Hyatt, Jalan Mertasari, Sanur Beach, Mercure, Jalan Tirta Empul, Mertasari Beach, Dalem Pengembak Temple, Jalan Bypass Ngurah Rai, Jalan Danau Tempe, Jalan Tukad Balian, P4B Renon, Jalan Raya Renon, Jalan Hang Tuah and finished at football field at the cottage area of the IGBB.
About 30 minutes, the participants had entered the finish line and they got many door prize draws, ranging from two units of motorcycle, 10 mountain bikes, accommodation voucher of staying at five-star hotel, savings as well as many other exciting door prizes. “All of the prizes pose the collaboration with Polygon, Garuda Indonesia, Thai Airways, Waja Motor, Bumiputera, Hardy’s Sanur, Telkomsel, Spa IGBB, King Koil, Bakti Rahayu Hospital and BNI,” said Ariani.
According to Ariani, the fun bike was the implementation of the bike community of the IGBB employees, namely the 1688 Bike Community. Besides, it was also one of the annual events started 5 years ago with the theme concept of tour de village service with smile. “This event is made possible due to the great interest of people in building the tourism through cycling so that more and more communities are fond of this sport. Hopefully, it will evolve in the future,” she added. Previously, her party had been carrying out social activities like blood donation and cleanup service around the temple located at the IGBB and Tambawaras Temple in Tabanan. As for the activities involving foreign tourists, added Ariani, were conducted on August 17, 2013 including the areca nut climbing, running while balancing keben basket and football play in house dress.
