Canoe Competition in Badung RiverSmall and narrow terrain does not impede the creativity of sporting enthusiasts like in playing canoe. The competition held in conjunction with the 225th anniversary of Denpasar City was followed by 260 participants consisting of students and the general public loving canoe sport. “This competition is to increase and enhance the water attractions and its diversity,” said the Head of Denpasar Government Tourism Office, I Putu Budiasa, after opening the competition.

Atmosphere of the canoe competition this time was different. In addition to competing paddle canoe, it was also jazzed up with stand up paddle canoe category. Indeed, this kind of canoe competition was held for the first time. “It is to further enhance the tourist attraction, including increasing the variety of water tourist attractions,” he said.The canoe competition was held every year to raise the awareness of society to maintain a healthy environment including the Badung River. On that account, at the opening of the competition was also filled with releasing 10,000 tilapias. (BTN/015)
