Come on  Take Yoga ExercisePuputan Badung (Gusti Ngurah Made Agung) Square lies in the zero kilometer or the city center of Bali Province. It is not only interesting for relaxing, but is also good for spiritual exercise. Many groups or spiritual groups utilize the square formerly denoting the battleground between the King of Badung and the Dutch troops. Every afternoon or on Sundays and other holidays, the green field serving as the lungs of Denpasar City is full of spiritual activities. There are people meditating to gain enlightenment as well as to treat various diseases. Some other people take their time to walk leisurely around the field.

On Friday (Jan 10), through the positive aura, the Denpasar Education Agency socialized a Yoga Gymnastics in this field. Teachers throughout Denpasar attended the event to participate. Besides, the Mayor of Denpasar IB Rai Dharmawijaya Mantra, Assistant II Wayan Gunawan, the Head of Denpasar Education Agency IGN Eddy Mulya and Chairman of PGRI Denpasar Nyoman Winata also took part in the event.
The Head of Denpasar Education Agency, Eddy Mulya, said the yoga gymnastics was different from other sports. Yoga gymnastics could combine the body movement, mind, feeling and intention. “This yoga exercise can provide body, physical, sense, intention and breathing cohesion,” he said.

Previously, the participants attended a workshop a year ago and it was then re-socialized regarding the illustration of yoga asana exercise that could become a learning medium of communication. “This yoga exercise will continue by degrees. Other than for government employees, it can also be made for all people,” he said.

An instructor of the Seger Oger Yoga Asana Gymnastics, Ni Ketut Oka Rupadini, said the participants of yoga exercise at that time consisted of the beginners. On that account, they were taught Surya Namaskar Yoga movement for three rounds and continued with the asana posture. “This movement functions for the stretching of the spine and tail bone. Similarly, it can also cure various diseases such as gout, rheumatism and lumbago,” she said.

One of the participants, Lakshmi Dharmayanti, said the yoga gymnastics was very suitable for the employees because it gave relaxation and could unite the mind with nature. “The sport is also good to control the unhealthy eating patterns,” she said. (BTN/015)
