Banyuwangi, the Sunrise of Java

If you happen to be on holiday in Bali and want to find another atmosphere, but still filled with cultural nuances and beautiful nature, simply come to Banyuwangi. It is one of the regencies in East Java Province indeed offering a natural beauty and culture.

Many attractions can be visited here. Similarly, many memories will be acquired in the easternmost region of East Java. From Bali, you can take a journey by overland leading to Gilimanuk. Then, ferry service will take you to Ketapang Harbor and then you have arrived in Banyuwangi, the Sunrise of Java. Alternatively, you can take flight from Denpasar to Surabaya and then from Surabaya to Banyuwangi take land transport like bus or train for 5-6 hours. At the end, you will arrive in the region retaining many natural and cultural resources.

According to the narrative of the Regent of Banyuwangi, H. Abdullah Azwar, to Bali Travel News, Banyuwangi was developing the tourism based on ecotourism concept. Diamond triangle of Plengkung G-Land, Ijen crater and Sukamade were still spearheading destinations to draw tourists.  Additionally, there was also a multi-cultural society of Osing, the native to Banyuwangi. Likewise, enjoy the graceful dance of Gandrung.

“We will welcome the tourists to Banyuwangi with all the hospitality becoming the distinctiveness of this region,” said Regent Azwar.

Its proximity to Bali, he added, would be optimized as an advantage to more intensively promote Banyuwangi. In the eyes of tourists, Banyuwangi indeed had its own place, especially for tourists with special interests.

Who does not know the waves of Plengkung Beach in G-land? World surfers were always tempted to play around with the waves, while the fascinating Ijen crater as well as turtles laying eggs on Sukamade Beach would become an unforgettable experience. Let’s come to Banyuwangi, the Sunrise of Java! (BTN/055)
