To held cultural event regularly has become the policy and strategy of Tanah Lot Tourist Destination. Introducing the destination through website, media and brochure is also still being done to attract tourists to come.
“We still carry out promotion even tough Tanah Lot is very familiar among people throughout the world,” said the Operational Manager of Tanah Lot, I Ketut Toya Adnyana, SP. He explained that the regular events are done to attract more tourists to come.
The promotion will be filled with the local culture and introducing local artists in order to preserve and develop Balinese culture in general. As the man who is responsible to manage the tourism destination, Toya understand that culture is the main attraction of Tanah Lot.
“The event is the effort by Tanah Lot to preserve Balinese culture especially the one in Tabanan,” he said. The increasing promotion is considered appropriate because Tanah Lot is intangible product so the tourists who want to enjoy the beauty must come directly. For that reason, the management will invite people to come to Tanah Lot.
“It is true that many tourists already familiar with Tanah Lot but with the new arrangement and development done lately, it could give new scenery for them,” Toya explained. He also stated that during the 3 Days Event 2012, all performances were the local culture from Tabanan.
Toya also said that the management wants to revive Barong performance in Tabanan. “The Barong performance will become a regular event in Tanah Lot. The try out has been done in the 3 Days Event where barong performed three days in a row in the afternoon and the respond of the audience was very good,” Toya said. (BTN/015)
