If you are traveling to Penelokan tourist area in Kintamani, Bangli, make your time to stop by to Madu Sari Mountain Restaurant. The restaurant located in cool area does not only offer a variety of delicious menus, but also a very beautiful view. As if the streaks of frozen molten lava of the Mount Batur, green pine shoots and blue water of Lake Batur enhance the flavor to eat here. Strategically located on Jalan Raya Penelokan, Kintamani, it is very close to Volcanology Museum. From Denpasar, it is about 50 km and can be reached by car for about 1.5 hours. The restaurant opened every day from morning until late afternoon provides breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Madu Sari Mountain Restaurant is managed by Ni Komang Sari Artini, a former Balinese dancer. With a touch of artistic creativity at hand, she is able to present tasteful and distinctive menus. “The restaurant presents more typical menus combined with traditional and modern spices,” said this vivacious woman. The special menus are typicality of Kintamani namely the soup of tilapia fish head denoting the native fish of Lake Batur. Besides, there are also grilled tilapia, tilapia satay and steamed tilapia wrapped in banana leaf. All are presented with different types of spices of Kintamani like raw spice and simmered spice having a specific taste. “We do not only indulge the local tongue, but also provide special meals served in European buffet style,” she said.
Dozens of buffet menus are served such as a variety of soup (tomato, asparagus, mushroom, vegetables and pumpkin soup) served with bread or croutons. Its main course consists of steamed rice, fried rice; fried noodles with vegetables, cap cay and Indonesian mixed vegetable rolls (hodgepodge). Besides, there are also fried potatoes, vegetables spring roll, fried chicken in sweet soya sauce and fried breaded of tuna fish in sweet soya sauce or beef stroganoff. Then, there are also tuna satay, chicken satay and coconut shrimp crackers. For dessert, the restaurant offers fresh seasonal fruit, pineapple, papaya, watermelon, orange and others. In addition, there are also fried banana with vanilla sauce and honey. Meanwhile, the hot drinks served are coffee and tea served with milk.
