DENPASAR - Abundant participants took part in the event entitled bike with love. Parking Lot of Mertasari Sanur Beach was crowded by bicycle enthusiasts. They were ranging from children to adults involved in that arena. The bike-with-love rally was intended to support the Car-Free day program of Denpasar City
Government other than to celebrate the Valentine’s Day. The route covered was as far as 20 km, starting from the parking lot of Mertasari Beach to Renon and back to the beach parking lot of Mertasari.

DENPASAR - Creative idea of Balinese community apparently never ebbs. On the Pengerupukan Day (one day before Nyepi) falling on March 15, 2010, Denpasar City Government will hold a contest of ogoh-ogoh or papier-mâché demon. Its participants will consist of Customary Youth Club (Sekaa Taruna) throughout Denpasar City. The following pictures show enthusiastic activity of youth club across North Denpasar subdistrict.

Visa on board :Simplifying Visits to Bali Print E-mail

There is good news for tourists who want to visit Bali inthe year 2010, especially tourists from Japan – the implementation of a Visa on Board (VoB) service that will eliminate the need for travelers to line up for hours for the submission of Visa on Arrival (VoA) when arriving in Bali. “This is a breakthrough in the management of VoA to provide better service for foreign tourists,” said Minister of Culture and Tourism Jero Wacik, while marking the start of VoB services on a Garuda Indonesia Tokyo-Denpasar-Jakarta flight.

The VoB system, which will take effect on February 1, 2010, is a document management service for the provision of immigration visas on arrival that is carried out by immigration officers. To obtain this VoB service, foreign passengers (Japanese citizens) are required to buy a visa on arrival in advance at the Garuda Indonesia check-in counter at Narita Airport (Tokyo).
