SANUR - Jawaharlal Nehru Indian Cultural Centre (JNICC) Jakarta and Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) Bali under Embassy of India, Jakarta participated in the Asia Africa Art and Cultural Festival 2009 organized in Sanur Village Festival from August 12-16, 2009 in Bali. Mr. M.K. Singh, Director of JNICC, Jakarta, and Mr. B. Sharma, Deputy Director of ICC Bali led the Indian performing delegation in the cultural parade in traditional attires. On August 13, opening performance was given by Ms. Pooja Bhatnagar together with her accompanying artists at Mertasari Beach, Sanur and thereafter Ms. Sangeeta Iswaran presented a solo performance. Then, on August 14, Ms. Niveditha Parthasarathy gave solo performances. Meanwhile, on August 15, Ms. Sangeeta Iswaran had a performance and workshop. In fact, the performances got heavy appreciation from the audience. The festival itself was concluded on August 16, 2009. (BTN/*/015)
(2) Tourism Awareness Lecture
TABANAN—To socialize the development of tourism sector, the Bali Government of Tourism Office provided a tourism awareness coaching to all elements of community, including the household mother coalesced into the Family Empowerment and Prosperity (PKK). The coaching was expected to deliver a new and correct understanding on tourism to PKK members of Tabanan Regency, not only restricted to the 10 principle programs. The happening was concluded with a demonstration of cooking fried chicken coated with flour with the instructor from Bali Tourism Institute (STP) Nusa Dua. The even inaugurated by the Head of Motivator Team of PKK of Tabanan Regency, Mrs. Nyoman Adi Wiryatama was executed at the Office of Tabanan Regent, Wednesday (Aug 26). (BTN/015)
(3) Gong Gebyar Competition
DENPASAR—Like mushroom in rainy season, the art creativity of Balinese people never turns faded, it always keeps on growing and developing. It is not mistaken if Bali is also given epithet as the warehouse of artists. Moreover, so is the Sanur Village, South Denpasar sub district in its endeavor to discover, develop and preserve the arts, especially traditional dance and gamelan music. On Monday (Aug 24), located at the public square of Sanur Development Foundation, was organized a gong gebyar gamelan music competition for children and youngster category. I took place for four days (Aug 24-27) and participated by 18 art troupes. Deputy Mayor of Denpasar City, IGN Jayanegara, accompanied by the Head of South Denpasar sub district, Alit Wiradana, inaugurated in person the competition marked by the striking of gong. (BTN/015)
(4) HIV/AIDS Socialization
BADUNG—Regional AIDS Prevention Commission (KPAD) of Badung executed socialization on the procedures of interment and reduction of stigma on the sufferer of HIV/AIDS, Monday (Aug 24) located at the Kriya Gosana of Badung Civic Center. The socialization engaged seven members of Socialization Team or Social Aspect Team from Working Group of Bali Provincial CST. It aimed at providing an understanding to the community on the handling procedures towards the corpse of HIV/AIDS sufferer so that they have no fear of being transmitted by HIV/AIDS. Up to now, it has been recorded 490 patients of HIV/AIDS in Badung Regency, where 199 of them are caused by AIDS and 290 others by HIV and 41 patients died. Also present on that occasion were the Executive Chairman of Badung KPAD I Ketut Sudikerta, Badung Office of Health Services, AA Mayun Darma Atmaja and followed by Customary Village and related institutions. (5) A Visit of Aston Management
DENPASAR—Public Relation Manager of Aston International, T. Marlene Frans, accompanied by Sales Coordinator of Aston Kuta, Ingrid Mega, made a visit to the office of Bali Post in Denpasar, Friday (Aug 28). Marlene explained her mission to establish a mutual relationship to mass media in Bali, especially the media under the flagship of Bali Post Media Group (KMB) to develop together the tourism sector in Bali. They were received by the Editorial Board of Bali Post, International Bali Post, Bali Travel News, Advertising Department and Circulation Department. (BTN/*) |
